Let it snow.

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

The weather in NY is crazy. So far this past week has felt like spring while the week before we had snow. Huh? Yeah, it’s a little scary. Aaaaanyway…I was pretty excited for the snow cause that meant we got to bust out Jackson’s little sled that he has been sitting in since he got it for Christmas. I’m not kidding, the poor kid takes the sled out and sits in it to watch Yo gabba gabba.

Once we got our snow gear on it was go time…

Jackson had soooo much fun going down the hills and playing with the snow that , I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, I hope we get more !! I guess we’ll have to wait and see…

A little late…

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

Hope everyone had a wonderful Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. I know this post is a little late but I’ve been sick and needed some rest. I’m still trying to get rid of this cold, taking shots of NyQuil and drinking lots of tea. Hopefully it’ll be gone by New Years. We had a pretty good Christmas, Jackson got a butt load of Yo gabba gabba stuff, puzzles, books, rock star Elmo, a drum and keyboard, a remote control car (which was more for dad…)clothes, a tent and a sled, which he loves. He pulls the sled out and sits in it in the living room and makes you pull him around. I hope we get a little snow soon so we can play with it outside.

We were supossed to take pictures with santa but Jackson had a runny nose and a little cold so I had to cancel the appointment, twice. By the time he was feeling better it was too late to get pictures by Christmas so I busted out my best photographer skills and went to work. Here’s some of what I got:

Now it’s on to New Year’s, I can’t believe 2012 is 3 days away. Looking back at last New Year’s eve Jackson was just learning to sit up…now he runs to me, hugs my leg and calls me mama. Even though I have my bad days I couldn’t feel more blessed. I truly am thankful.

The Paper Mama

Let’s DIY.

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

I was looking for the perfect bowtie for Jackson to wear on Christmas but couldn’t find one at any of the stores I went to. I did find a bunch of cute ones on Etsy but it was hard to tell the true colors and if it would go with his shirt. So what’s a mama to do? Bust out the sewing machine and make one herself. And that’s what I did.

Chillin like a Villain

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Oh Fall, how you will be missed. I knew the days would come…the days of 30 degree weather, naked trees, runny noses, puffy coats, staying in, and all the other fun stuff that comes with winter. Boo.
But before the snow comes we will try to get out as much as we can. This day the BF took us out for breakfast and Jackson was being good eating his food and drinking his milk from a straw. I always worry when we go out because you never know what kid will show up at the table, the nice little boy who eats his pancakes or the devil child who throws his pancakes at people. We had the good boy that day. Thank goodness…

Stylin and Profilin

Jackson was featured on Baby Blackbird’s Mini Street Style the other day:

Baby Blackbird is one of my favorite kiddie style blogs so I was super excited when I got the email telling me  Jackson was going to be on the site. Dressing boy’s is a bit more challenging being that a lot of places don’t offer thatmuch variety, compared to the girls section which usually takes up a whole side of a store.  I dress Jackson the way I wantto dress. I usually wear men’s button downs and always liked the menswear look. I also don’t spend more than $20 dollars on Jackson’s clothes, unless it’s for a special occasion or shoes(babies need good support),  I’m a thrifty mama and some of my favorite pieces of Jackson’s came from yard sales, thrift stores, consignment, hand me downs or ebay. I also go straight to the sale section of any store.  You don’t have to spend a lot to have great style.

Thanks again to Brandy of  BBB  for having Jackon on your blog =)
