Jason Mecier is an amazing artist who takes garbage, food, pills and other unconventional materials and turns it into something beautiful. It makes you think twice about throwing out that tampon wrapper, doesn’t it?
Not only does Jason turn hording into an art form, he takes donations. Sweet.
It just goes to show that Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
Check out his website for more portraits…http://www.jasonmecier.com/title.html
Slacking and lacking motivation is something we all go through at one point or another. Sitting at home watching life pass you by can put you in a deep depression, especially during these crappy winter months when you’re stuck inside most of the time. I am one of those post-it people. I have a bunch of post-it’s around my work area that read “just do it” , “get busy or get lost”, “make your own destiny” etc. So when I came across these prints by OrangeBeautiful I felt as if they were made just for me :
Motivate 8×10 prints
1 for $12 or 4 pack for $40
These are totally on my Christmas list, they’re a lot prettier then post its.

I think it’s great for little girls to learn that they are beautiful just the way they are. God knows theres enough of us grown women still trying to learn that lesson.

I love me some Gaga, no one can rock a knitted animal skull like she can :

Lady Gaga was on the cover and did a spread for 944 magazine and I must say, bravo. She looks lovely, even if her hat looks like Frank from Donnie Darko.

The Brooklyn Museum is having an exhibition of Rock & Roll photographs to highlight the ” Rock & Roll” photographer :
Who Shot Rock & Roll is the first major museum exhibition on rock and roll to put photographers in the foreground, acknowledging their creative and collaborative role in the history of rock music. From its earliest days, rock and roll was captured in photographs that personalized, and frequently eroticized, the musicians, creating a visual identity for the genre. The photographers were handmaidens to the rock-and-roll revolution, and their images communicate the social and cultural transformations that rock has fostered since the1950s. The exhibition is in six sections: rare and revealing images taken behind the scenes; tender snapshots of young musicians at the beginnings of their careers; exhilarating photographs of live performances that display the energy, passion, style, and sex appeal of the band on stage; powerful images of the crowds and fans that are often evocative of historic paintings; portraits revealing the soul and creativity, rather than the surface and celebrity, of the musicians; and conceptual images and album covers highlighting the collaborative efforts between the image makers and the musicians.
I am so excited to see this exhibit…
It runs until the 31st and the museum hours are Wednesday–Friday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday–Sunday: 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Don’t miss it!
