Indie is one of favorite graffiti artists. I love her style and the color schemes she uses remind me of my old Lisa Frank trapper keeper and sticker book. She got together with KarmaLoop and put together a little video…
Nice cameo by Cope2.

Bold Hype Gallery is hosting Spoke Art‘s Quentin vs. Coens art show next week and Tim Doyle took some of his favorite moments from Tarantino’s film and “Doyled” them up…

“I’ll be there in three shakes of a lamb’s tail”
I saw this print at Target a while back and loved it. I knew I wanted it for Jackson so I put it on my mental list of stuff to buy sooner or later. Fast forward to last week when I went through my Sublime Stitching book and saw the alphabet patterns…
I stitched on felt using the backstitch:
I drew the heart with pencil and filled it in with the back stitch, as you can see I had some trouble with the sizing of the heart which resulted in pencil marks on the felt. oops=/
I knew I wanted to paint the hoop black or red…
I went with black, I’m really happy with the end result. And I saved 20 bucks. whoo hoo!
Jason Mecier is an amazing artist who takes garbage, food, pills and other unconventional materials and turns it into something beautiful. It makes you think twice about throwing out that tampon wrapper, doesn’t it?
Not only does Jason turn hording into an art form, he takes donations. Sweet.
It just goes to show that Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
Check out his website for more portraits…http://www.jasonmecier.com/title.html
So this year I decided I wanted to get into embroidery. I remember back in day when I was a Girl Scout we would embroider handkerchiefs for our dads for fathers day. I still have my fathers, with the big blue H (his name was Hector) stitched on the corner and his Girl Scout medals attached to it.
I got inspired to do embroidery when I was looking for crafts to do on , of course, Martha Sweart.com and came across the link for SUBLIME STITCHING. I remembered always seeing the ad for SS in the back of Juxtapoz Magazine and thought that the prints were super cute and different from anything you find at Micheal’s or Joanne’s.
When I clicked on the link and saw what Sublime had to offer I was sold…
The owner and creator of Sublime Stitching is Jenny Heart. She designs the patterns and is a pro stitcher. Along with her own designs, there are also Artist Series you can choose from : Tara Mcpherson, Molly Crabapple, Julie West, and Jim Woodring to name a few.
I put my order in for the Ultimate Embroidery Kit and I can’t wait to get it. I think my first project will be a bib for Jackson <3
Yay to hobby #375! I think I’m going to need a crafting room…
ps. We should totally have a craft party, cause you know, going out and getting wasted is so 2009.
=D
Tara McPherson drew Sarah Silverman for “Is this thing on?”, a group show at Gallery 1988 in Melrose, CA that starts tonight :

The show looks like it’s going to be awesome. I hope it come to the East coast. For more info and pictures check out the Gallery 1988 blog HERE.
Slacking and lacking motivation is something we all go through at one point or another. Sitting at home watching life pass you by can put you in a deep depression, especially during these crappy winter months when you’re stuck inside most of the time. I am one of those post-it people. I have a bunch of post-it’s around my work area that read “just do it” , “get busy or get lost”, “make your own destiny” etc. So when I came across these prints by OrangeBeautiful I felt as if they were made just for me :
Motivate 8×10 prints
1 for $12 or 4 pack for $40
These are totally on my Christmas list, they’re a lot prettier then post its.
